Custom Solid Surface Tooling

Solid surface molds built around your design.

Prestige builds the mold around the needs of your custom design.

Working-surface quality

Your part is ONLY as good as your mold.

The working face carries the finish into every part. Prestige builds for a highly polished surface first, then gives the flange the same deliberate attention.

The work spans shower pans and walls, sinks, and long multi-station commercial sink tooling—each built around the actual product geometry.

Your starting point

What exists today.

Prestige separates what is ready to build from what still needs tooling-aware development.

Tooling-aware development

CAD has to work in the mold shop.

A finished-looking model can still leave open questions about machining, master construction, flange geometry, and production use. Prestige can begin with completed tooling CAD or coordinate the development needed to make the build practical.

Master → mold

The master sets up the mold.

A production mold can only be as good as the physical master beneath it. The master establishes the geometry and surface every step after it has to carry forward.

  1. 01

    Finished tooling CAD

Start with resolved tooling geometry, or let Prestige coordinate the development needed before machining begins.

  2. 02

    Physical master

The master is machined and built to establish the surface, geometry, and flange the production mold will inherit.

  3. 03

    Production mold

The mold is laminated from the master, supported with steel where appropriate, finished, inspected, and prepared for shipment.

Master-only handoff

Need the physical master but not the mold? Prestige can stop there and hand it off to your team.

Repeat-tooling programs

When additional molds may be needed over time, Prestige can evaluate a composite-and-steel “glass master” instead of relying indefinitely on MDF or tooling board. It is a job-specific option.

Solid Surface tooling FAQ

Before you send the job.

What should we send for a Solid Surface tooling quote?

Send the best information you have today: finished or preliminary CAD, a print with dimensions, photographs, an existing tool, a physical master, or a clear project description. Prestige will identify what still needs to be resolved.

Can Prestige start from finished tooling CAD?

Yes. Many projects begin with customer-supplied CAD or a print. Prestige can work from finished tooling geometry or coordinate the development required to make the master and mold buildable.

Does Prestige normally build both the master and the mold?

Usually. The physical master sets up the production mold, so keeping both stages together creates one continuous tooling path. Prestige can also stop at a completed master when that is the handoff your mold shop needs.

What is a glass master?

For repeat-tooling programs, Prestige can evaluate a composite-and-steel master instead of relying indefinitely on a conventional MDF or tooling-board master. It is a job-specific option, not a requirement for every project.

Can Prestige work on an existing Solid Surface mold?

Yes. Prestige can review existing tooling for a possible repair, modification, rework, or refurbishment path. Photographs and the available tool history are the best place to start.
